Coast Walk

Very important to check on tides before starting this walk. Contact the signal station manager 09 235 1013 for guidance, he can also point you in the right direction for where the walk begins. 240m steep descent from the Signal Station, then along the coast to Hamiltons Gap (end of West Coast Road) takes 4 to 5 hours.  Please check tides.

Note: this walk is not for the feint-hearted - experienced walkers only. From the lighthouse carpark you do need to cross private farm land - once again, check with signal station manager initially.
