Waiuku Forest - 13km south of Waiuku, at the mouth of the Waikato River is the Waiuku Forest.  Owned by Crown Forestry and managed by New Zealand Forest Managers, the forest covers 1508 ha and is planted in Pinus Radiata.<br /><br />Also at the forest is the New Zealand Steel

Alexandra Redoubt

Alexandra Redoubt Road, Tuakau

The Alexandra Redoubt was built in July 1863 by a detachment of the 65th Regiment. It is the best preserved of all the military posts and was built in 1863 - 64. Further information about this historic site is available at Franklin i-SITE Visitor Centres.
