A fundraiser for Toolbox Parenting Course for Waiuku families.  Visit 10 unique gardens around the Waiuku District.

Cost:  Programmes $15 each or family $25 for a programme (Includes light refreshments and musical entertainment at Leafy Hollow)

The Matakawau Scenic Reserve is now complete with a footbridge over Opoia Creek and a boardwalk across the church land to link up with Hatton Road Reserve.

Today visitors can follow a Heritage trail through the town and relive the past at the pioneer museum open weekends and public holidays. Nearby the Glenbrook Vintage Railway delights children of all ages on a 12km journey through the countryside.


Alexandra Redoubt

Alexandra Redoubt Road, Tuakau

The Alexandra Redoubt was built in July 1863 by a detachment of the 65th Regiment. It is the best preserved of all the military posts and was built in 1863 - 64. Further information about this historic site is available at Franklin i-SITE Visitor Centres.
