The showgrounds comprise 50 acres close to the town centre. A two day Garden & Craft Show is held on the weekend prior to Labour weekend, and the annual A&P Show takes place on the third Saturday of February and the preceding Friday, with horse, beef and dairy cattle, sheep, goats, woodchopping, indoor exhibits, trade displays and entertainment.
