Possum Bourne Memorial Rally -  30/8/2008 - Pukekohe

The Smartwood by Alpwood Possum Bourne Memorial Rally

The Rally will begin in King Street, Pukekohe on Saturday 30 August.  There will be a display of all competing cars from 8.00am where drivers and navigators are available for autographs and spectators are encouraged to join in the fun. This year the Rally will be run in conjunction with Rally New Zealand, on day 2.  There are a number of fantastic viewing spots along the way to the finish at Mystery Creek, at Matangi, Hamilton.

Family Movies to screen in Tuakau -  5/9/2008 - Tuakau

Family movies to screen in Tuakau starting Friday 1 May 2008

Tuakau Union parish will be screening the first of a series of family movies on Friday. Initially it is a trial venture for three months and any feedback will be welcomed.  Parents are welcome to stay, and their assistance with supervision will be appreciated.

Dates:  The movies will screen at 7pm on the first and last Friday of the month.

Single Sealer V8 Race Cars.  There are 250 confirmed entries so this meeting will be one of the largest meetings in terms of competitors held at Pukekohe.

Dash the District -  21/9/2008 - Pukekohe

Dash the District  - Sunday 21st September.  Another great family event / team bonding day.

Description:  Franklin's very own version of the "Amazing Race".  Teams of four make their way around the Franklin District finding clues and performing set tasks.

Franklin Positive Ageing Expo 2008

A Franklin Integration Project - 'Pulling Together With Older People'.

An expo designed for the "Life Begins at 65" age-group.  Several stage performances will take place throughout the day, including Waiuku Cossie Club Line Dancers, Art of Belly Dance, Tai Chi, Fashion Parades.   Entrance is free, refreshments (served all day) are free, raffles and prize draws are free.

Stands will include Age Concern Counties Manukau, Grey Power, Safer Community Council, NZ Seniors Card, Bay Audiology, Kevens Orthopaedic Furniture and many more.

Bauer Cycles Pukekohe Express 100km or 50k

There are two exciting event options for you, the Pukekohe 100k or 50k, both starting and finishing in Pukekohe.  Whichever one you choose you can be assured of a great day out.

Glenbrook Vintage Railway re-opens -  25/10/2008 - Glenbrook

Glenbrook Vintage Railway re-opens

Board the train at Glenbrook Station and settle into the immaculate wood paneled carriages.  The friendly guard in vintage uniform will clip your ticket as you listen to the panting and whistling of the steam locomotive, smell that special aroma of the coal smoke and experience again the thrill and excitement of travel by steam train.

The gates open at 10am on operating days and trains run on the hour from 11am to 4pm.

Other activities available include hand and motor jigger rides, a children's playground and the Glenbrook Farm Park, an animal lover's paradise, adjacent to the Glenbrook Station.

Other attractions in the area include the Waiuku Museum, Hartmann House - (quality crafts), Wrights Waterlily Gardens, Awhitu Regional Park, Karioitahi surf beach and sheltered harbour beaches.

The regular operating season starts on Labour Weekend (late October) and continues until Queens Birthday (early June).  During this season trains operate Sundays and most public holiday weekends.

Kids in Cars 2009 -  4/1/2009 - Pukekohe

Kids in Cars - 2009 Camp Quality family track day.

For the past four years Kids In Cars has organised a track - family fun day at Pukekohe Park Raceway for Camp Quality.  Camp Quality is a non-profit organisation that cares for children aged between 5-16 living with cancer.  There will be a truck convoy - last year there were 309 big rigs track side - a spectacular sight to see them rolling down the southern motorway.

To break the Guiness world record for the biggest convoy of trucks - 417 trucks will be needed.  We need your help to break this record !!

As part of the family day out, there will be a variety of fun track side rides, with the highlight being rides in cars and trucks around the track.  Celebrity race car drivers on site ....... many more attractions.

Historic Racing Club Inc - Tasman Grand Prix Meeting -  26/1/2009 - Pukekohe

Tasman Grand Prix Meeting

This is the first of 3 meetings for F5000 cars recreating the glory days of the Tasman Series.  This is a two day meeting.  There are several invited groups attending this meet.  There are F5000 cars coming from Australia, USA and England. 

Practice and some racing Saturday 26 January.  Racing starts 10.30am Sunday 27 January.  

Location:  Pukekohe Park Raceway, Manukau Road, Pukekohe.  To get to Pukekohe, follow the Southern Motorway to the top of the Bombay Hills.  Take the Pukekohe turnoff - turning right.  When you get to Pukekohe turn left at the roundabout - Manukau Road, continue straight ahead to the track. 

Cost:  Adults $25, children under 12 free.  Free car parking, free grandstand and free entry to the pits.

Preliminary notice that the annual general meeting of the P76 Car Club will be based in Pukekohe for the weekend 12, 13, 14 March 2009.

Itinerary:  Get-together / welcome on Friday night, a tour of the local area on Saturday followed by a formal meeting and a meal.
